PlateItalian dinner after 10pm in Manhattan: eight rooms and their published closing times
The short answerEight Manhattan Italian kitchens with a published close of 10:30pm or later, sorted by how late they run. Plus the difference between closing time and last order.

Most Manhattan Italian kitchens stop at 10pm. A smaller number run to 11, and one runs to midnight on weekends. Below are eight with a published closing time of 10:30pm or later, taken from their own sites in early August 2026, sorted latest first. Read the caveat in the next section before you build a plan around any of them.

Closing time is not last order

Almost every restaurant here publishes a closing time. Almost none publishes a last seating. Those are different numbers, and the gap between them is usually 30 to 45 minutes. A kitchen listed to 11pm will often stop taking food orders at 10:15 or 10:30, especially on a slow Tuesday. Two practical rules: if you are arriving inside the last hour, call ahead rather than trusting the website, and if you are arriving inside the last 30 minutes, expect the bar menu rather than the full one.

At a glance

Pete’s Tavern, kitchen to midnight Friday and Saturday. L’Artusi, midnight Friday and Saturday. Via Carota, 11pm daily. Rubirosa, 11pm daily. Rezdôra, 11pm daily. Eataly, 11pm daily. Barbounia, 11:30pm Thursday through Saturday. I Sodi, 11pm Friday through Sunday.

The latest kitchens

Pete’s Tavern, 129 East 18th Street

The bar runs to 2am seven days, which is the outlier on this list, but the number that matters is the kitchen: 11pm Sunday through Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday. It opens at noon and does not close between services, so it also covers the dead hours in the afternoon. The menu is Italian-American rather than regional, with a rigatoni alla vodka, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmigiana and an eggplant parmigiana. It has been trading since 1864 and describes itself as the oldest continuously operating restaurant and bar in the city. Reservations through Resy.

Use it for: the meal after everything else has closed.

L’Artusi, 228 West 10th Street

Dinner runs 5pm to 11pm Sunday through Thursday and 5pm to midnight Friday and Saturday. This is the best late food on the list and the hardest to walk into. Reservations release on Resy on a two-week rolling basis at 9am, but the bar and counter hold walk-in space, which is the realistic route after 10pm on a weeknight. The pasta section runs to a pici cacio e pepe at $23 and a tagliatelle with bolognese bianco at $27.

Use it for: a late dinner you want to be good rather than merely open.

Barbounia, 250 Park Avenue South

Open to 11:30pm Thursday through Saturday, 11pm Tuesday and Wednesday, and 10:30pm Sunday and Monday. It is Mediterranean rather than Italian, sitting at 20th Street in what its own site calls the heart of Gramercy, and the late hours on the Park Avenue South corridor are genuinely scarce. Happy hour runs 3 to 7pm weekdays at the bar. There is a printed three-course dinner prix fixe at $60.

Use it for: a late table in Gramercy when the Italian rooms nearby have shut.

Via Carota, 51 Grove Street

Open to 11pm every night, from 11am Monday through Thursday and from 10am Friday through Sunday, with no break between services. Walk-ins are the house policy rather than an exception, which makes this the most reliable late option that does not require a reservation. The kitchen lists a tonnarelli cacio pepe at $27 and a pappardelle with wild boar ragu at $28.

Use it for: an unplanned late table with no phone call first.

Rubirosa, 235 Mulberry Street

Open 11am to 11pm every day. The pasta section is labelled handmade, and the menu carries both a Roman cacio e pepe and a lumache alla vodka, plus the pizza the room is better known for. Groups of eight to 22 are accommodated family style. Reservations go through a form on its own site rather than a booking platform.

Use it for: a late table in Nolita where the group cannot agree between pizza and pasta.

Rezdôra, 27 East 20th Street

Dinner runs 5pm to 11pm every night, with a midday service added Tuesday through Sunday. Emilia-Romagna pasta, and one of the harder reservations in the Flatiron, so a 10pm walk-in is optimistic rather than a plan. Booking is through SevenRooms.

Use it for: a late seating you booked weeks ago, not a late decision.

I Sodi, 314 Bleecker Street

Open daily from 4:30pm to 10:30pm, extending to 11pm Friday through Sunday, with a midday service on those same days. The site notes the corner location at Bleecker and Grove and publishes no menu at all, so go for the room and the reputation rather than a dish you have picked in advance. Resy, and the site states walk-ins are welcome.

Use it for: a late weekend table when you do not need to know what you are eating first.

Eataly NYC Flatiron, 200 Fifth Avenue

The store runs 7am to 11pm daily, with La Pizza & La Pasta serving to 10:30pm and most counters to 10pm. It is a marketplace rather than a restaurant, so a 10:15pm arrival gets you a counter rather than a proper table. Worth knowing as the fallback when everything else on this list is full.

Use it for: the backup you did not want but will be glad exists.

If you are picking a room near a late train rather than a late kitchen, this rundown of what sits within a few minutes of the 23rd Street 6 stop is organised the way you actually arrive. And a late dinner in a tourist-heavy stretch is where standards slip fastest, which is the subject of how to read a restaurant from the sidewalk.

Frequently Asked Question

Will a restaurant still seat me if I arrive 20 minutes before closing?

Usually yes for a drink, often no for a full dinner, and the answer depends more on the kitchen than the host. A room with a published 11pm close has line cooks who have been breaking down stations since 10:15, and a four-course order at 10:40 means someone rebuilds a station they just cleaned. Most places will seat you and steer you toward the bar menu. If you want the full menu, aim to be seated an hour before the published close, not twenty minutes. Calling ahead costs nothing and gets you a straight answer, since the person picking up the phone knows what the kitchen will actually accept tonight.

Before you go

These are published closing times, not last seatings, and August is a month when kitchens quietly trim hours. Everything above came from each restaurant’s own website in early August 2026. Confirm before you travel.
